1967 Was a Good Year For Cougar : Or My Nightly Cruise in My Vintage Auto

December 31st, 2008

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of good condition Cougars out there. Buy a Cougar now before the price goes up! You won't be sorry.

Time has flown this car-driving season.
Jason and I have lived with our 1967 Cougar now for probably 5 years. Overall we've been living well with the car. Our cottage is in rural Oklahoma, near Collinsville - (HR), and we enjoy driving the car during the fall months. My opinion is I'd say it's a great toy for the money.

Ever since we bought the Cougar we've been driving up a storm. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting our uncle in New York numerous times over the year. The Cougar does Ok on gas and has not given us a lot problems in terms of service.

The Cougar is in perfect shape, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past twenty-two years. Our previous car, a Lincoln, had plenty of issues and we weren't unhappy to sell it off.

It was stressed to me to insure the vehicle. For our antique collector car insurance we went with a company called CHROME Specialty Car Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on classic car insurance. It's a great web site for finding the best offer on car insurance. We insured the Cougar for a fraction of what Geico wanted.

I don't regret for a minute buying our Cougar. While 1967 was not freshest in my memory, our car helps us relive those days.

True Story: My 1960 Oldsmobile in a Car Show and Saw My Future

December 31st, 2008

My friend and I entered a local show-n-shine here in Conway Springs, Kansas. It was run by the local Fire Marshal by the name of Nick Brewer. The Fire Marshal is a car fanatic from way back, having a small part in the film "V moey smerti proshu vinit Klavu K.". A love of cars was developed over the years.

I entered my 1960 Oldsmobile in the car show with the hope of taking home a prize. I spent 3 hours getting the Oldsmobile. I had done my vin search on the Oldsmobile by going over to collector car VIN site for a check at the accuracy of the car. Based on the excellent information I found that my Oldsmobile was a collector car!

I ended up taking home a first place trophy! | was totally floored that my little old Oldsmobile had so many people hanging around it. Next year I might go for a national championship.

I took a regional antique car show here in Surprise, Arizona, Arizona. It was run by the local Fire Marshal by the name of Bob Mathews. The Fire Marshal is a car fanatic from way back, having a small part in the film "D-Day: Down to Earth - Return of the 507th (TV)". A love of cars was fostered over time.

My car won best of class! | was in total shock that my little old Lincoln had done so well the first time out. Next year I'll start preparing earlier.
