My wife and I Entered the 1954 Buick in a Cruise-in and Was Impressed

January 3rd, 2009

I entered a club-sponsored show-n-shine here in Floris, Iowa. It was organized by the local Fire Marshal by the name of Bob Garrett. The Fire Marshal is a film freak from way back, having a small part in the film "The Tahitian". A love of cars was nurtured slowly.

I entered my 1954 Buick in the cruise with the desire of winning first place. I spent four hours getting the Buick. I had done my vin search on the Buick by going over to decode this for a check at the accuracy of the car. After considerable research there I found that my Buick was highly collectible!

My car won best of class! | was completely shocked that my little old Buick drew so much attention. Next year I might enter it in a state-wide show.

1969 Was a Good Year For Barracuda : Or Getting Dirty in My Vintage Auto

January 2nd, 2009

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of good priced Barracudas out there. Buy a Barracuda now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.

We've had fun this year.
Maybell and I have owned our 1969 Barracuda now for nearly 11 years. I'm glad to report we've been very happy with the car. The climate is fair in eastern Georgia, near Jasper, and we love driving the car during the fall months. Our opinion is I'd say it's a brilliant toy for the money.

Almost from the minute we received the Barracuda we've been driving up a storm. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my husband's sister in California several times without any issues. The Barracuda does Ok on gas and has not given us alot issues in terms of maintenance.

The Barracuda is in great shape, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 23 years. Our previous car, a Vauxhall, had plenty of heartaches and we weren't unhappy to scrap it.

It was important to insure the vehicle. For our classic car insurance company we went with a company called Hagerty. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on insurance reviews. It's a great web site for finding the lowest cost on car insurance. We insured the Barracuda for a fraction of what Prudential wanted.

It was a good investment purchasing our Barracuda. While 1969 was a long time ago, our car helps us relive those bygone days.

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of good priced Beetles out there. Buy a Beetle now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.

We've had fun this year.
Connie and I have counted on our 1969 Beetle now for probably 4 years. Overall we've been thrilled with the car. The house is in eastern Iowa, near Crescent, and we enjoy driving the car during the fall months. Overall I'd say it's a stunning vehicle for the money.

During the time we've owned the Beetle we've been all over the country. We took it out for a spin to see our relatives in Kansas many times over the year. The Beetle does well on gas and has not given us a lot issues in terms of repair.

The Beetle is in good condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 19 years. Our previous car, a Bentley, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren't sad to get rid of it.

It was made clear to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our classic car insurance for corvettes we went with a company called Leland-West. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on classic car insurance. It's a cool place for finding the best deal on insurance for classic cars. We insured the Beetle for a sliver of what Nationwide wanted.

We've very happy with our Beetle. While 1969 was just a blur to me, our car helps us redo those days.
