1969 Was a Good Year For Barracuda : Or Getting Dirty in My Vintage Auto

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of good priced Barracudas out there. Buy a Barracuda now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.

We've had fun this year.
Maybell and I have owned our 1969 Barracuda now for nearly 11 years. I'm glad to report we've been very happy with the car. The climate is fair in eastern Georgia, near Jasper, and we love driving the car during the fall months. Our opinion is I'd say it's a brilliant toy for the money.

Almost from the minute we received the Barracuda we've been driving up a storm. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my husband's sister in California several times without any issues. The Barracuda does Ok on gas and has not given us alot issues in terms of maintenance.

The Barracuda is in great shape, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 23 years. Our previous car, a Vauxhall, had plenty of heartaches and we weren't unhappy to scrap it.

It was important to insure the vehicle. For our classic car insurance company we went with a company called Hagerty. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on insurance reviews. It's a great web site for finding the lowest cost on car insurance. We insured the Barracuda for a fraction of what Prudential wanted.

It was a good investment purchasing our Barracuda. While 1969 was a long time ago, our car helps us relive those bygone days.

Connie and I have counted on our 1969 Beetle now for probably 4 years. Overall we've been thrilled with the car. The house is in eastern Iowa, near Crescent, and we enjoy driving the car during the fall months. Overall I'd say it's a stunning vehicle for the money.

During the time we've owned the Beetle we've been all over the country. We took it out for a spin to see our relatives in Kansas many times over the year. The Beetle does well on gas and has not given us a lot issues in terms of repair.

The Beetle is in good condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 19 years. Our previous car, a Bentley, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren't sad to get rid of it.

It was made clear to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our classic car insurance for corvettes we went with a company called Leland-West. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on classic car insurance. It's a cool place for finding the best deal on insurance for classic cars. We insured the Beetle for a sliver of what Nationwide wanted.

I Entered my 1954 Chrysler in a Local Show and Took First Place

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

My friend and I entered a church-sponsored car show here in Carterville, Illinois. It was run by the local city elder by the name of George Conrad. The city elder is a motorhead from way back, having a small part in the film "W*A*L*T*E*R (TV)". A love of cars was fostered slowly.

I entered my 1954 Chrysler in the show 'n shine with the dream of winning first place. I spent 2 hours getting the Chrysler. I had done my research on the Chrysler by going over to decode this for a check at the accuracy of the car. After considerable research there I found that my Chrysler was very rare!

I couldn't believe it...my car won first place! | was in total shock that my little old Chrysler had so many people hanging around it. Next year I might enter it in a state-wide show.

Ever since we bought the Cougar we've been driving up a storm. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting our uncle in New York numerous times over the year. The Cougar does Ok on gas and has not given us a lot problems in terms of service.

The Cougar is in perfect shape, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past twenty-two years. Our previous car, a Lincoln, had plenty of issues and we weren't unhappy to sell it off.

It was stressed to me to insure the vehicle. For our antique collector car insurance we went with a company called CHROME Specialty Car Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on classic car insurance. It's a great web site for finding the best offer on car insurance. We insured the Cougar for a fraction of what Geico wanted.

I don't regret for a minute buying our Cougar. While 1967 was not freshest in my memory, our car helps us relive those days.

My friend and I entered a local show-n-shine here in Conway Springs, Kansas. It was run by the local Fire Marshal by the name of Nick Brewer. I entered my 1960 Oldsmobile in the car show with the hope of taking home a prize. I spent 3 hours getting the Oldsmobile. I had done my vin search on the Oldsmobile by going over to collector car VIN site for a check at the accuracy of the car. Based on the excellent information I found that my Oldsmobile was a collector car!

I ended up taking home a first place trophy! | was totally floored that my little old Oldsmobile had so many people hanging around it. Next year I might go for a national championship.
