1968 Was a Good Year For Bel Air : Or Getting Dirty in My Classic Car
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008The classic car of your dreams is out there Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of cheap Bel Airs out there. Buy a Bel Air now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.
We're already looking forward to next year.
Lance and I have counted on our 1968 Bel Air now for around ten years. Truth be told we've been content with the car. The house is in lower Kentucky, near Junction City, and we love driving in the car during the spring months. My opinion is I'd say it's an excellent ride for the money.
From the day we picked up the Bel Air we've been all over the country. We took it out for a spin to see my wife's uncle in New Mexico many times without any issues. The Bel Air does well on gas and has not given us a lot issues in terms of maintenance.
The Bel Air is in perfect shape, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken excellent care of the car over the past 19 years. Our previous car, a Chrysler, had plenty of problems and we weren't depressed to sell it off.
We made sure we went to get insurance on the vehicle. For our antique car insurance we went with a company called Leland-West. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on car insurance. It's an authority site for finding the best offer on antique car insurance. We insured the Bel Air for 50% of what our regular insurance company wanted.
I don't regret for a minute buying our Bel Air. While 1968 was not freshest in my memory, our car helps us enjoy those bygone days.
