1971 Was a Good Year For Chevelle : Or Having Fun in My Classic Car

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Go out and find that special classic car Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of good condition Chevelles out there. Buy a Chevelle now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.

I can't believe we have to put our baby away for the winter.
Juanita and I have lived with our 1971 Chevelle now for I think six years. The general feeling is we've been content with the car. The apartment where we live is in eastern Michigan, near Perrinton, and we love driving the car during the spring months. Overall I'd say it's an awesome vehicle for the money.

From the day we picked up the Chevelle we've been behind the wheel. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my wife's relatives in Montana several times over the year. The Chevelle does poorly on gas and has not given us a lot problems in terms of maintenance.

The Chevelle is in good condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken excellent care of the car over the past 22 years. Our previous car, a Mercury, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren't depressed to see it go.

It was important to get insurance on the vehicle. For our classic car insurance we went with a company called Sneed Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on muscle car insurance. It's an awesome resource for finding the best price on custom car insurance. We insured the Chevelle for 30% of what State Farm wanted.

I don't regret for a minute buying our Chevelle. While 1971 was just a blur to me, our car helps us recapture those feelings.

I Entered my 1966 Packard in a Show ‘n Shine and Had a Blast

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

My wife and I entered a regional vintage car show here in Stromsburg, Nebraska. It was put together by the local Fire Marshal by the name of Kristin DiNucci. The Fire Marshal is a film freak from way back, having a small part in the film "Faja lobbi". A love of cars was fostered slowly.

I entered my 1966 Packard in the car show with the hope of impressing my friends :). I spent two days getting the Packard. I had done my vin search on the Packard by going over to classic car VIN site for a check at the accuracy of the car. Based on the excellent information I found that my Packard was highly collectible!

I entered my car and took first place! | was in total shock that my little old Packard was the star of the show. Next year I might go for a national championship.
