1971 Was a Good Year For Shelby : Or Enjoying History in My Collector Car

Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of excellent Shelbys out there. Buy a Shelby now before the price goes up! You won't be sorry.

Time has flown this car-driving season.
Gary and I have relied on our 1971 Shelby now for just about 8 years. Overall we've been content with the car. The climate is fair in upper Alabama, near Mount Meigs, and we love touring in the car during the summer months. My opinion is I'd say it's an excellent toy for the money.

During the time we've owned the Shelby we've been driving up a storm. We drove to visit my husband's sister in Mississippi numerous times with no problems whatsoever. The Shelby does fair on gas and has not given us a lot issues in terms of maintenance.

The Shelby is in rare form, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken good care of it over the past twenty years. Our previous car, a Kia, had plenty of heartaches and we weren't depressed to scrap it.

It was very important to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our classic car insurance we went with a company called American Hobbyist Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on antique cars. It's an awesome resource for finding the best offer on classic car insurance. We insured the Shelby for half of what Geico wanted.

We've very happy with our Shelby. While 1971 was not freshest in my memory, our car helps us redo those feelings.
