1965 Was a Good Year For Mercury : Or Enjoying History in My Classic Car

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of good condition Mercurys out there. Buy a Mercury now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.

Time has flown this car-driving season.
Kelvin and I have owned our 1965 Mercury now for I think eight years. The general feeling is we've been living well with the car. Our condo is in upper Alabama, near Theodore, and we love touring in the car during the hotter months. Our opinion is I'd say it's an excellent toy for the money.

From the day we picked up the Mercury we've been behind the wheel. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my husband's college roommate in Vermont several times with no problems whatsoever. The Mercury does great on gas and has not given us alot issues in terms of repair.

The Mercury is in driving condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken good care of it over the past twenty-one years. Our previous car, a Kia, had plenty of issues and we weren't unhappy to get rid of it.

It was important to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our haggerty classic car insurance we went with a company called Leland-West. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on muscle car insurance. It's a cool place for finding the lowest cost on insurance for collector cars. We insured the Mercury for a quarter of what Progressive wanted.

We've very happy with our Mercury. While 1965 was a completely different age for cars, our car helps us redo those days.

My wife and I Entered the 1959 Plymouth in a Regional Competition and Had a Blast

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

I entered a church-sponsored car show here in Whitesburg, Kentucky. It was run by the local city elder by the name of Valerie Bocian. The city elder is a car fanatic from way back, having a small part in the film "Vaaksa vaaraa". A love of cars was grown over the years.

I entered my 1959 Plymouth in the show 'n shine with the desire of getting a trophy. I spent 2 hours getting the Plymouth. I had done my vin search on the Plymouth by going over to collector car VIN site for a check at the accuracy of the car. Based on the excellent information I found that my Plymouth was highly collectible!

I entered my car and took first place! | was totally floored that my little old Plymouth was the star of the show. Next year I'll start preparing earlier.
