I Entered my 1953 Chevrolet in a Local Show and Freaking Won

Monday, August 11th, 2008

I took the weekend off and entered a church-sponsored classic car show here in Keller, Georgia. It was put together by the local Chief of Police by the name of George Kronenfeld. The Chief of Police is a motorhead from way back, having a small part in the film "Galaxibirds (VG)". A love of cars was developed slowly.

I entered my 1953 Chevrolet in the car show with the hope of impressing my friends :). I spent quite a bit of time getting the Chevrolet. I had done my vin search on the Chevrolet by going over to VIN decoder for a check at the accuracy of the car. Based on the excellent information I found that my Chevrolet was a collector car!

I ended up taking home a first place trophy! | was completely shocked that my little old Chevrolet had been named a star of the show. Next year I might enter it in a state-wide show.

1973 Was a Good Year For Shelby : Or How to Enjoy My Collector Car

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of cheap Shelbys out there. Buy a Shelby now before the price goes up! You won't be sorry.

I can't believe we have to put our baby away for the winter.
Jerri and I have counted on our 1973 Shelby now for around eight years. The general feeling is we've been living well with the car. We live in upper Kentucky, near Olive Hill, and we enjoy driving in the car during the fall months. Our opinion is I'd say it's an awesome car for the money.

Ever since we bought the Shelby we've been all over the country. We took it out for a spin to see my husband's brother in Arizona several times with no problems whatsoever. The Shelby does poorly on gas and has not given us alot problems in terms of maintenance.

The Shelby is in pristine condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken good care of it over the past 18 years. Our previous car, a Kia, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren't sad to get rid of it.

It was important to get insurance on the vehicle. For our classic car insurance for corvettes we went with a company called Hagerty. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on old cars. It's a cool place for finding the lowest cost on insurance for collector cars. We insured the Shelby for a sliver of what Geico wanted.

I don't regret for a minute buying our Shelby. While 1973 was just a blur to me, our car helps us relive those bygone days.
