Wednesday, August 6th, 2008Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of excellent Audis out there. Buy a Audi now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.
Time has flown this car-driving season.
Amelia and I have lived with our 1972 Audi now for probably three years. The general feeling is we've been happy with the car. The condo is in southern Iowa, near Cumberland, and we enjoy touring in the car during the spring months. Overall I'd say it's an excellent toy for the money.
During the time we've owned the Audi we've been enjoying it heartily. We took it out for a spin to see my wife's uncle in Georgia many times without any issues. The Audi does well on gas and has not given us a lot problems in terms of repair.
The Audi is in fine condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken good care of it over the past twenty years. Our previous car, a Subaru, had plenty of headaches and we weren't sad to see it go.
It was stressed to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our antique collector car insurance we went with a company called Hagerty Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on antique cars. It's an awesome resource for finding the best deal on insurance for collector cars. We insured the Audi for a sliver of what Geico wanted.
It was a good investment purchasing our Audi. While 1972 was a completely different age for cars, our car helps us recapture those days.
